BOTOX (Botulinum-Toxin)

Dr. Reischle uses Botulinum-Toxin for:

  • Reduction of frown lines
  • Reduction of forehead creases
  • Reduction of crows feet
  • Blocking of sweatglands under armpits
  • Specialeffects

Botulinum toxin A, often referred to by its product name Botox®, is a safe, popular, non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. Botox blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance.

Risiks and Sideeffects
As with any drug, Botulinumtoxin isn't without possible sideeffects. Rarely there is some headache or reddishness around the injectionpoint.. A temporary lowering of the upper eyelid by 1-2 milimeters is age-dependent and due to underlying skin laxity   Flu-like symptoms are very  rare and disappear after a few days. By injecting chances are that the doctor hits a small skinvessel, resulting in some bruising for a few days which easily can be camouflaged by make-up.

What does it cost?
Depending on region and dosage from 250 €.

How is it applied?
Botulinum-Toxin is injected highly concentrated dropwise with very thin needles directly into the target muscle. A few stiches (up to 5 per region) may be necessary depending on the  creases. If blocking the sweatglands, Botulinum-Toxin is injected directly in the skin where the glands are located.

Dr. Reischle is certified Botulinumtoxin-Expert by the Austrian Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
